About my personal and professional progress:

I graduated from a prestigeous city funded general high school in 2008, despite my career advisors at middle school urging me to enroll into a more practice oriented program that would be "more fit to my intelligence." 

The victorious feeling was spiced with bitterness after, to my disappointed, I was not accepted into a BA program in journalism and politics at university. Perhaps, I thought, my middle school teachers were right about my intelligence... Perhaps it was my time to become another brick in the wall. And so I did. Worked at a factory, then suddenly promoted as the only person in the entire building who could say a word in English. But even with this promotion I knew that my place within the company was not going to change again. My destiny was sealed, presumably.

Some say I lacked discipline and commitment when I left. I say they lacked conscience and sense for human dignity if they could pay people with peanuts and oft times not even that. I left because I did not give up and eventually I was accepted into a university program, however, the major differed dramatically. 

The university studies provided me with oportunities of extensive long term travelling, studying and working abroad, living and growing. I realized that although my majors changed, my objective remained the same. I wanted to study journalism and politics thinking these fields will grant me power and influence. If there is something I hate, it is the feeling of being stuck, seeing evil and not being able to do anything about it. I was soon to realize that as a teacher, the exact power I was craving for is at my fingertips.

The change starts within you - this is what I try to make my students see. Your choice to do good and be selfless. In my universe, crowds do not exists. There is a student, an individual just like me. It is my job to sow a seed of hope, skills and goodness into each of these individuals. I provide people with skills, confidence and support.

Anybody has the capacity within themselves to learn languages. Look at me - I am so unintelligent, according to "professionals" :-) So if I could do it, you can to, knowing that language open doors, it open minds and worlds. It creates a new you.
